GlowPoint Announces Web Collaboration Suite for Video Communications
"All You Can Share" Plans Extend Unlimited Usage Value for GlowPoint Customers
HILLSIDE, N.J. November 17, 2004 – GlowPoint, Inc., (NASDAQ: GLOW) the world’s leading broadcast-quality IP-based video communications service provider, today announced its plan to deliver a Web collaboration suite of products. GlowPoint will extend its customers’ video communication capabilities through cost-effective and seamless technology partnerships with Web collaboration providers Pixion and Vemics. The offerings are designed to reduce barriers to usage and advance customer adoption of integrated video communications into the business mainstream.
Generally available in January 2005, the "All You Can Share"(SM) unlimited usage subscription plans will provide GlowPoint’s Web collaboration customers with a one-stop video communications solution, including a consolidated invoice. Similar to GlowPoint’s current “All You Can See” ™ video communications packages offering unlimited usage for a flat monthly subscription, the GlowPoint Web collaboration suite tears down communication walls between the Web and islands of video currently existing in the marketplace by complementing and integrating with video and voice communications over the GlowPoint network.
"GlowPoint customers have come to expect an easy and spontaneous video experience. As video becomes an integral part of their daily communications, these organizations are now looking to Web collaboration to complement their business toolset," said David Trachtenberg, president and CEO of GlowPoint. "Our integration of video, voice and data communications brings customers one step closer to a true ‘virtual meeting room’ for everyday business."
"All You Can Share" brings two unique Web collaboration capabilities to market through partnerships with leading Web collaboration developers Pixion and Vemics. Developed primarily for conference room-to-conference room presentations and virtual meetings, Pixion PictureTalk is a leading cross-platform Web conferencing solution. Customers can now collaborate on projects and presentations over the Internet with Pixion while continuing to use GlowPoint for broadcast quality video communications.
"Our ability to offer seamless collaboration for both the PC and Mac platforms supports GlowPoint’s vision of easy-to-use, spontaneous, and reliable communication," said Gene Wolf, president and CEO of Pixion. "The new suite represents the real user demand for bringing the best of video and Web collaboration together for competitive business communications advantage."
Separately, GlowPoint is introducing an integrated desktop video and Web collaboration solution, powered by Vemics, a leading provider of managed on-line meeting and learning solutions. Vemics solutions enable Windows users to leverage multi-point video, voice and data conferencing using one, easy-to-use browser interface. Customers leveraging the Vemics powered solution can ride seamlessly across GlowPoint’s broadcast quality, IP network to enjoy a fully integrated desktop collaboration experience well beyond the conference room environment. GlowPoint will provide single billing capabilities and one point-of-contact help desk support for both Pixion and Vemics solutions.
"The combination of Vemics and GlowPoint’s world class IP video network, delivers a state-of-the-art collaboration experience unmatched in the marketplace," commented Rick Marciniak, President, Vemics, Inc.
