PIXION APPOINTS LEWIS JAFFE TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Appointment of Former PictureTel CEO & President
Expected to Help Guide Corporate Direction
Pleasanton, Calif. – March 23, 2004– Pixion, Inc.,
., the creators of PictureTalk, a leading cross-platform Web conferencing
solution, today announced that it has appointed Lewis Jaffe to its
Board of Directors Advisory Committee. The Advisory Board has been
formed to assist the Board of Directors and senior management in
the formulation and guidance of the strategic direction of the firm.
In the course of his 20+ year career, Lew Jaffe
has led the growth of more than 20 companies as their chief executive
or outside advisor in a variety of industries including; telecommunications,
healthcare, manufacturing, retail and distribution and the Internet.
In 2000 Mr. Jaffe was appointed President and
Chief Operating Officer of PictureTel Corporation, a $500 million,
NASDAQ-listed Videoconferencing Company in Massachusetts.
After being drafted by the Company’s board to formulate and
execute a turnaround plan, he introduced new technology to the marketplace,
reinvigorated the distribution channel,
streamlined business processes, improved customer relations and
ultimately restored the company to profitability. After the successful
turnaround of the PictureTel, he subsequently sold the company to
Polycom, creating significant shareholder value during his tenure.
Since leaving PictureTel, Mr. Jaffe has been consulting
to companies in the telecom (wired and wireless) industry, focusing
on the converged network rich media collaboration sectors. He also
sits on two public company boards; Media 100 Inc., a leader in digital
video image editing and compositing and Glowpoint Inc., the nation’s
first and leading carrier-grade, IP-based video communications service
provider.
